LCG EnergyCELL

Power, heat and storage.
Designed around your site.

LCG EnergyCELL is a development concept for a modular energy centre. It combines the planned use of suitable biogenic fuels with decentralised electricity and heat generation. The focus is a supply system tailored to the actual needs of buildings and businesses.

System planning considers generation, consumption and storage together. Depending on the project, solar PV, batteries and thermal storage may be included. Cooling and integration with LCG BlueVANTAGE for water generation are also envisaged as project-specific extensions.

Match the combination to demand

Electricity and heat demand, existing equipment and available fuels form the basis of the design.

Increase on-site supply

On-site generation aims to increase self-supply and complement existing energy sources.

Develop step by step

An agreed pilot project should provide reliable data on operation, maintenance and economic viability.

Knowledge & facts

Understanding energy. Planning supply.

Local energy systems depend on the interaction of electricity, useful heat and the timing of demand.

A closer look

Why use the heat as well?

Combined heat and power uses heat from electricity generation for buildings or processes. The benefit depends on an actual local use for that heat. High overall efficiency is not the same as high electrical efficiency.

Does self-supply automatically provide backup power?

No. Islanded operation requires suitable grid disconnection, controls and coordinated generation and loads. EnergyCELL backup capability, storage and available operating time must be designed and verified for each project.

What does a load profile show?

Annual consumption describes total energy use. A load profile adds when energy is needed and at what power, helping match generation, useful heat and storage. For climate assessment we also consider fuel origin, transport, emissions and the energy supply actually displaced.

Self-supply & energy independence

Greater independence.
Plan for self-sufficiency.

EnergyCELL aims to provide electricity and heat on site and reduce the need for purchased energy. The objective is a high level of self-supply. Depending on the site concept, supply without the public electricity grid is also being explored as a development goal.

Whether off-grid operation is possible, and for how long, depends on the load profile, generation capacity, storage and a reliable fuel supply. Suitable grid isolation, protection and controls are also required. These conditions are designed and tested for each project.

Self-sufficiency is a project-specific planning objective. Continuous supply or a particular duration of off-grid operation is not guaranteed as a general claim.

Potential applications

One concept. Different requirements.

Agriculture

Power for the farm and workshop; heat for the home, livestock buildings or drying processes — tailored to farm operations.

Hotels & Resorts

An integrated approach to electricity, heating and hot water, with cooling depending on the site concept.

Businesses & buildings

Supply for workshops, commercial buildings and residential developments with suitable electricity and heat demand.

Municipalities & neighbourhoods

Shared supply concepts for multiple buildings and municipal facilities.

Assess a site together

Could EnergyCELL suit your business?

For an initial assessment, we would like to understand building use, current annual consumption, existing heating and solar PV systems, and available biomass. We seek suitable pilot-site operators and partners for technical implementation and testing.

People at the heart of it

For everyday life and work.

Behind every energy need are people: families, farmers, hospitality businesses and their teams. We want to develop supply concepts with them that suit their daily lives and locations.
