04 / Atmospheric Water Generation
System development · Seeking project partnersLCG BlueVANTAGE
Water from air.
New options for your site.
LCG BlueVANTAGE combines the concept of atmospheric water generation with water treatment, storage and a suitable energy supply. It aims to use humidity as an additional local water source, tailored to the climate, intended use and demand.
The focus is on hotels and resorts, island and coastal locations, and businesses with additional water needs. Together with prospective project partners, we assess where a pilot project could be meaningfully implemented.

Generate water
Atmospheric water generation uses moisture in the surrounding air. Temperature and relative humidity are major factors in a site's potential.
Plan for water quality
Treatment, hygienic storage and quality checks are tailored to the intended use. Suitability for drinking-water use must be demonstrated.
Integrate energy planning
Planning considers available energy sources, consumption and operation. Integration of solar PV, storage or LCG EnergyCELL is assessed for each project.

Additional water sources are worth exploring when climate, energy supply and water quality are assessed together.

Cooling can turn water vapour into liquid water. The starting moisture content influences the dew point.

How does condensation-based water generation work?
Humid air passes over a cooled surface; condensate is collected. Cooling and airflow require energy. Treatment and storage follow.
US EPA · AWG Technical Brief, 2019 (PDF) (source, new tab)Why is there no universal litres-per-day promise?
Output and energy needs depend on climate. For BlueVANTAGE we therefore aim to measure local temperature and humidity profiles and energy per litre.

No. Airborne substances and microbial growth matter. BlueVANTAGE requires suitable treatment, hygienic storage and verified water quality.
